Legal
Terms of Use
Effective July 15, 2026
These terms govern your use of the TalkieTalkie app and website.
1. Acceptance
By using TalkieTalkie, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to agree to these Terms in your country. TalkieTalkie is not directed to children under 13.
2. The service
TalkieTalkie provides internet-free translation services for supported speech, text, and camera use. Translation capability depends on compatible hardware, permissions, and language or model resources installed on the phone.
Ask, Nearby, account services, advertising, live place data, downloads, and calling or communication features may use internet access and third-party services. Feature availability can vary by device, language, location, provider, or release.
Version 1 is offered free of charge and supported by ads. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. Any future paid feature will be presented with its price and applicable App Store terms before purchase.
3. Guest use and accounts
You may use core translation as a guest. Guest preferences generally remain on that device. You may create an optional email/password account or use an available Apple or Google sign-in method to retain supported preferences and use account-dependent features.
You must provide accurate account information, protect access to your email and device, and promptly report suspected unauthorized use. You may not sell, share, or create accounts through automated or deceptive means. We may require email verification or reauthentication for security-sensitive actions.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use TalkieTalkie to:
- violate law, another person's rights, privacy, or intellectual property;
- harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, defraud, stalk, or endanger anyone;
- upload malicious code, probe security, bypass access controls, overwhelm services, or scrape them without permission;
- misrepresent AI or translation output as verified professional advice or an official record; or
- interfere with advertising consent, fraud controls, provider attribution, or service integrity.
5. Translation, AI, and place-data limits
Translations, transcriptions, speaker or language identification, AI answers, maps, ratings, hours, and recommendations can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Accents, noise, overlapping speech, proper names, and short phrases can reduce accuracy. You are responsible for checking important information.
TalkieTalkie is not an emergency, medical, legal, immigration, financial, or safety-certification service. Do not use it as your only source for emergency communication, medication or allergen instructions, legal deadlines, border requirements, or safety-critical directions.
6. Permissions and connectivity
You choose whether to grant microphone, speech, camera, photos, location, local-network, Bluetooth, notification, and tracking permissions. Denying a permission may limit the feature that needs it without preventing unrelated guest translation. Carrier, roaming, and internet charges are your responsibility.
7. Advertising and third-party services
TalkieTalkie may display third-party ads after requesting applicable advertising choices. An ad is not an endorsement. Your interactions with advertisers, Apple, Google, Cloudflare, map providers, sign-in providers, or other third parties are also governed by their terms and privacy policies.
8. Your content and intellectual property
You retain rights you have in text, images, documents, and other content you choose to process. You grant TalkieTalkie and its providers only the limited rights needed to operate an online feature you request. You represent that you have the right to use content you provide.
TalkieTalkie, its design, software, and branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. These Terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the app; they do not transfer ownership. Third-party software, fonts, models, maps, and services remain subject to their own licenses.
9. Suspension and deletion
You may stop using the app at any time and may delete an account using the account-deletion process. We may limit or suspend account-dependent or online access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security, legal obligations, provider restrictions, or material violation of these Terms. Core guest functionality may remain available when technically possible.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TalkieTalkie is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so they may not fully apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TalkieTalkie and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits statutory consumer rights.
12. Changes and applicable law
We may update these Terms as the service or law changes. We will post the effective date and provide additional notice where required. Applicable law and any mandatory consumer protections govern without depriving you of rights that cannot be waived. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue.
